changing primary domain name

  HI there

  I’m trying to delete my primary domain name and change it to one I have added to a cart, but worried that it will become unavailable. Any advice?

  Hi! If you buy a domain and plan, you’ll actually keep your .wordpress.com address, but the new domain will become the main address for the site. That way if anyone had the link before, it will still redirect to the new address. No need to delete anything.

  If you intend to create a separate site with a new domain, I’d recommend clearing the cart and starting here:

  https://wordpress.com/start
