Changing settings after transfer

  • Unknown's avatar

I recently transferred my domain/blog over to Go Daddy so that I could benefit from the extra add-ons that you do not receive with WordPress.com.
Since transferring I am having some issues with making changes to my site. I have uploaded the necessary files/add-ons/plugins etc into my FTP manager in Go Daddy but do not know how to make them ‘active’ (for want of a better word) within my actual wordpress dashboard? I have exported my site content and also uploaded that into the FTP manager.
I really hope someone can help me out as I am getting extremely frustrated now! Arrrrrrggghh!

The DNS (domain name servers) for your domain still point to WordPress.com.

You’ll want to change them at GoDaddy so that they point to GoDaddy’s hosting.

Note that If you’re having problems with a site running a self-hosted version of WordPress.org, we may not be able to help.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress.org are two different entities.

WordPress.org has a complete support site for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress at:

    http://codex.wordpress.org

    Hope this helps.
