changing site address

hi i want to change the web address to remove the .wordpress bit of it. can i do this by upgrading to personal level or do i need to buy a domain name too? sorry for such a simple question… I’m new to all of this!!

Yes you can register your Domain by buying the Personal Plan, one’s you buy a personal Plan you can just migrate to MySites–>Domain
and register the domain. Have a look at the support document here

You will need to upgrade to the Personal plan as a minimum and this does include a free domain name, so you don’t need to purchase that separately.
