  I am having difficulty getting wordpress to allow me to change my site address….to ANY other name. Please help.

  Correct account: Yes

  Piggybacking… I wanted my URL to be heatherulrich.wordpress.com but it’s stuck on heatherulrichcom.wordpress.com and the only way to edit is to buy a domain. I don’t want to pay for a domain just because I’m unable to make a free account, but all the help guides suggest that’s the only solution.

  You can’t change to heatherulrich.wordpress.com as its reserved for a user with that username.

  You can change to any available WordPress.com site address, for free, by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/
