Changing site address

  Hey, my current site address is mindoriginals.wordpress.com
  If I replace it with another address, will it affect my content or the website in any way? Will I retain the current settings or theme I have?
  Please let me know about this.

  Eveyrthing will stay the same as it was. But before you change the site address, carefully read about the consequences at https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-site-address/

  I have this site address for over 4 years. Will I lose the site ranking on search engine. Suppose one of my posts is showing up in top results of a search term. Will I lose that by changing the current site address.
  If you can explain it deeply, that will be of great help. Or any resources I can refer to.

  Your ranking and numbers of visitors will go down because your old website http://mindoriginals.wordpress.com/ no longer excists.

  Hi there,

  I just want to add a bit more detail here:

  If you simply change your site address, but keep your content, your search ranking will drop, but it will be temporary. Search engines should reindex your content fairly quickly (provided you continue posting regularly), and once that’s done your search ranking should pretty much recover to what it used to be.

  You can also mitigate the effect by verifying your site in Google’s Search Console before you make the address change:

  https://wordpress.com/en/support/site-verification-services/

  Then, once you make the address change, you can notify Google of that in Search Console, so they immediately start updating their indexes to the new address.
