changing site administrators

  My original site administrator set up the site and maintained it for a while – but then disappeared, can’t be traced. I do not have his password to access things. I need to keep the site up to date and I have a new SA ready to go – but it seems I cannot access areas of the site that the original SA set up, like new pages, etc. Can WordPress help me please?
