Changing Site Adress
-
Hello!
When I first joined WordPress, I created a website under the address of thebookmermaid.wordpress.com, but then deleted it shortly after. Regretting my decision, I came back but the website wouldn’t let me use the same address, making me add ‘blog’ to the end. Since thebookmermaid isn’t being used by anyone, it doesn’t exist anymore and it was originally mine, is there any way I can have it back? I prefer it much more!
Thanks in advance! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Deleted WordPress.com websites can be recovered within 30 days of deletion by the original owner.
After 30 days the blog address is permanently disabled and cannot be used again by anyone.

I can understand your situation.
Adjusting with a new name is a bit difficult.
You can not get your old name back but if you want you can register a Custom domain like (thebookmermaid .com) or (thebookmermaid .blog) and link it your blog.
You can read more about the Domains and Domain Registration here.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
Please note that Custom domains are only allowed for Paid Plan (Personal, Premium & Business) users. Every Plan upgrade comes with domain credits using which you can register a domain for free.
You can learn more about WordPress.com Plans here.

Let us know if there’s anything else I can do for you.
Happy to help, Have a great Day ahead. :)
