Changing site ownership

    Hello, I need to change site ownership, but I’ve followed the instructions and don’t have the option of a drop down menu to select another user to transfer ownership to. The site is self-hosted. Thanks :)

    Thanks for getting in touch! To avoid any confusion, it’s important to distinguish between three different versions of “WordPress”:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software that powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org, the open-source project where you can obtain the software for free to use on your chosen hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com, a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software, which is the platform you are currently contacting.

    Since your website is not hosted here, those instructions won’t apply as they’re for sites hosted here. You would need to contact your hosting provider for help in transferring site ownership to another individual.
