changing sites

I signed up for site ground but cancelled and now want to upgrade here on wordpress.com instead. But does Site ground still own my domain? I’m so confused about this and don’t want to lose my name, or pay for an upgrade on wordpress.com only to not be able to have my proper web address.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
These are good questions.
But does Site ground still own my domain?
No. You own the domain. They are the registrar. You’ve registered your domain through their service. Does that make sense?
It sounds like the domain is pretty new. It’s not possible to transfer a domain outright until it’s been registered for 60 days. That’s an ICANN regulation. Instead of transferring your domain to us, you will point it to us through domain mapping. Once the domain is old enough it can be transferred outright.
Here is how you need to proceed.
1. Pick out your plan and add it to the account. Go to https://wordpress.com/pricing/
2. Go to My Sites – Domains – Add – Map It! and follow these steps: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
3. Ask Site Ground to change the name servers and point the domain to WordPress.com. They’ll need to use these:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM4. come back to me here with any follow up questions :)
