changing size/font of text?

  • Unknown's avatar

Ok, I’m new at this so please be gentle. I can’t seem to find any way to change either the style or size of the font in my posts. Sometimes it automatically comes out tiny, other times huge, and with different fonts. I’ve been cutting and pasting from Word (since it has better spell check) and I can affect the size of the font in my posts by changing it in Word and then pasting it over, but this isn’t a very reliable or convenient way to do it (sometimes WordPress doesn’t seem to recognize what font/size I’ve used in Word). Help? Am I missing something?

If you do use Word, use the special paste from Word icon. Take a look at this FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/why-not-to-use-word/

The other way is to post the text from Word into the html editor which will strip out all the code for you. Then click on Visual and format the text the way you want.

Better still, for the Font-size change JavaScript code provides a uniform, readily available means of adjusting text size rather than expecting users to find the varying browser provided mechanisms for doing so. It allows a much wider range of font-size increase and decrease than the View Text Size menu commands in Internet Explorer. The code allows size adjustment for Internet Explorer if you use pixels or points to specify font-size as well as em’s, percentages or keywords.

@mujingasana – that advice won’t work here at wordpress.com since we can’t use Javascript. Do you have a wordpress.com blog yourself?
