Changing static front page to portfolio project
-
Hello!
I’m currently using the Fluxus theme to build a simple portfolio with no blog element. I’m specifically trying to set one of my portfolio projects as the front page instead of my theme’s standard “Portfolio” page, which gives you a navigation overview of your different projects – I’d rather have a selection of my work show up immediately upon entering my website, and navigate the projects via the header menu. There doesn’t seem to be an option to select a portfolio project in WordPress. I’ve also tried to create a new “Horizontal Portfolio” page within my theme and select that as the front page – but it still shows up as portfolio navigation.
This is what my front page looks like: http://77.40.156.62:8888/tonje/
This is what I want the front page to be: http://77.40.156.62:8888/tonje/portfolio/uncategorized/works/
This is the theme I’m using: https://themeforest.net/item/fluxus-portfolio-theme-for-photographers/3854385Thank you kindly for any help!

Hi,
Have you tried portfolio shortcode, customized so that it only displays the chosen project, inserted into a static front page?

There doesn’t seem to be an option to select a portfolio project in WordPress.
Since you’re using WordPress.org at your own host, you’ll want to be sure you’ve got Jetpack enabled to use our portfolio feature.
Once you’ve got that, you’ll see the custom post type and can use its shortcode. More details here:
