Changing text color in a cover block

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I know this has been addressed before, but I’m still hoping for some help.

I’m simply trying to change the color of a single word of text in a color block. All my research has led me to believe it should be done with the ‘highlight’ feature. I’ve tried this and I can change the text color.

The problem is I can’t make the background clear. The word gets surrounded by a block of color.

    Thanks for taking a look.

    Hi there,

You are perfect about “highlight” feature. I checked your website and not sure which background color is getting surrounded as all the text is visible. Can you share us the image with issue or point us to the exact issue with more details? So that we might help you.

    Thanks

Hello. Thank you for getting back to me.

I have the problem showing on my website now. I’m trying to get rid of the yellow around the word “fly”. I would like it be transparent to the background. I would have attached an image, but the forum is preventing me.

    Thank you.

Ugghh… Thank you very much for letting me know.

I’ve also had this issue appear recently: yellow highlight on text with custom colour even though the background is set to “clear”. I hope they fix it soon.

A workaround is to add a highlight that matches your site background. This is not desirable because 1. It’s time-consuming to apply, and 2. In reader view (in Safari, presumably similar features elsewhere) it will again show the text as highlighted.

Thank you Talavernon. I know this sounds basic, but what does “modlook” mean and how would I add it as a tag to the thread?

    Thanks, Derek

Thank you. I see it. What does the modlook tag stand for? I’m brand new to WP.

Hi there, just wanted to update you that our dev team just shipped a fix for in the past hour. On your end you will need to open the post, make a minor change (like deleting or adding punctuation), then save the changes. Re-saving any post/page with this issue should return it to the correct appearance.

If you continue to see this issue please let us know!
