changing text color on a wordpress theme

  I have been trying to figure out how to change my text color on my site to black and i am having no luck. I know it has to be done in CSS but i can’t figure out how to do CSS coding even after reading all the tutorial.

  If someone could tell me how to do this it would be greatly appreciated. I know it’s probably simple but it’s stumping me
