changing the appearance of a share on Facebook
-
I’ve connected my blog to automatically share on my Facebook page, but how it appears on my Facebook page is awful! Sometimes it chooses random pictures, and the description is the first few sentences of the post which is not always the catch phrase I’d use to grab people. It also doesn’t hashtag to connect with anything else. I end up having to log into my Facebook page every single time anyway to edit the post to make it looked better.
Is there a way to change these settings so I can add ‘how do you want it to appear on Facebook’ option?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. Unfortunately not. How the preview appears is determined by Facebook, not by WordPress.com. All Publicize does is send the link to Facebook, and Facebook then fetches the image and excerpt from the page. The only way to have complete control over this is to post your links to Facebook manually.
On the other hand, doing it manually is better for another reason: Facebook is more likely to show your post to people if you post the link manually than if you post it via Publicize. This has to do with how Facebook’s news feed algorithms work, and again not something WordPress.com can do anything about.
FWIW, I always post to Facebook manually, because of exactly the issues I mention here.
