Changing the appearance of Read More buttons

    I’d like to change the color and typography on the Read More button–or eliminate it, since I’m not remotely smart about HTML and can’t do much more than click on stuff.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Are you referring to this site? https://breadandhaven.com/

    I see that it’s a self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) site, not a WordPress.com site.

    The current community forums we are on is meant for questions related to WordPress.com account/sites.

    For questions related to self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org), you will have to ask on self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) community forums. Note that you might need an account to post on self-hosted WordPress forums. You can create one here.

  • You can change the “Read More” button style like this:

    .link-more a {
      background-color: #bb00bb;
      font-family: "Cormorant Garamond", Times, serif;
      font-weight: bold;
    }

    Head to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS to add your custom CSS. Change the colour code from the example purple to anything you like. You can learn more about using CSS here.

    As strikebuys mentioned, these forums are for sites hosted on WordPress.com, but you’re running the WordPress software on your own hosting. If you need further help with the self-hosted version of Dyad, feel free to post in its forum at WordPress.org:

    p.s. strikebuys – thanks for your help, as always! Wherever possible, it’s helpful to link to an individual theme forum (like the one above) rather than the general forum link. This brings the thread to the attention of the developers quicker – they won’t usually spot if it if’s posted the general forums, as developers often follow only their own theme or plugin forums.

    That’s right, Kathryn. Noted, and will do this from the next time. Thank you! :)
