Changing the author slug
-
When you use the tag the_author_posts_link(), you can use ‘idmode’ as a parameter to change the link text, but not the actual url slug. For example, my username is “stu”, and the slugs created are http://website.com/author/stu/.
How do I set you WP to change this slug to use a nickname – ie http://website.com/author/stus-nickname/?
-
I do not believe this the_author_posts_link() functionality is available at wordpress.com. Blog entries are not filed by author name or nickname, as far as I know. They are organized into directories by date.

You’re right; that functionality isn’t available here, period. Some templates identify the authors, but usually I recommend tagging the posts with the author’s name on a multiuser blog.
