Changing the authorship of a post

I am the administrator of a blog shared with three of my friends. One friend always seems to have issues accessing WordPress to add entries to the blog, so she typically sends me what she wants to add to the blog and I do it. It’s been a while since she had something to share, but this morning she did. I thought there used to be a way for me, as administrator, to make it appear as though she wrote the blog entry rather than me. Is this feature no longer available or is it theme based? If I recall correctly, we’ve had this theme for quite some time, so that’s why I’m unsure if it’s a theme issue or not.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Should be way down at the bottom of the edit Post / Page screen – small drop down with all the user names – or it was still there two days ago when I posted some articles for a friend in their blog (this is classic editor I used from the Dashboard >> Posts – – I don’t use the blue death beep beep editor)

Thanks auxclass, but I still don’t see it. It must be only for certain templates which is aggravating. Something like that should be standard for blogs, not only for certain ones.

  • If you don’t see the Author anywhere in your Post/Page editing screen (make sure it’s not a collapsed section), it may be hidden. Click on Screen Options at the top right of the page, and a few checkboxes should appear. Ensure that the checkbox “Author” is checked!

Once it is, then there should be a section on your editing page called “Authors” where you can select/change the author of a post, after which you’ll have to then save ithe post.
