Changing the background color

  Hi.
  I need some help before I throw the computer out of the window… I’ve been trying to change the colors in my blog but since I don’t know how to work with CSS at all, it has turned out to be much more difficult than I first thought. The category “background” doesn’t seem to work, ’cause when I change the color and then go to my blog to see how it turned out – I see the color for like 1 sec and then it’s all black again. I’ve opened the editor and tried to change every code after “color:” but that doesn’t help either. It’s like the black is covering the other colors.

  I want to be able to change the color in my blog whenever I feel like without going nuts. Please help me! Thank you.

  On many themes, including yours (Modularity Lite), you don’t need a paid upgrade to change the background color via CSS. Look under “Appearance>Background>Display Options>Color”. Choose your color and save the changes.

  On the other hand, do you actually have the paid Custom Design upgrade that allows you to modify your theme’s CSS on a permanent basis?

  That’s exactly what’s not working :( It works for one second and then it all turns black again like it is now. It’s like the black is covering the other color. Weird.
  Yes, I have! I got it since my friend should help me design the blog but that didn’t happen. If I could just find what code to change!

  The simple solution of changing the background is not working because you have the Custom CSS/Design upgrade. I believe that once you have that upgrade, you have to change the background properties in your theme’s style sheet for it to work.

  There are only less than a handful of forum volunteers who can help with CSS (I’m not one of them) and with the Custom Design upgrade, you should be able to get assistance from Support as well.

  Another thought is that if you don’t know CSS and your friend is not going to help you and it’s been less than 30 days since you bought the upgrade, you might want to consider getting a refund from WordPress.com and go the “simple” route.

  Ah, so that’s why.. Well, now I’ve tried to figure it out myself and I’ve found out how to change both the background color and the color of the text so hopefully it’ll be alright!
