Changing the classic WP Admin area

If possible, I’d like a WordPress staffer to answer this question:

Why did you change the drop-downs under the My Site link on the classic WP admin bar?

It used to provide an easy way to switch views from the front end to the back end. But since the View Site link is gone, I believe the only way to accomplish that now is to open one tab or window for each view.

This seems like another attempt to force WP Admin users over to your new editor.

It’s bad enough that you replaced a great interface with a sub-standard version. Why must you continue to make the original interface less usable?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    why won’t they answer this?

My own feeling is that they simply don’t care about their users. I’ve encountered this attitude for several months.

It’s obvious that the new administrative interface is a disaster, and Mullenweg and company are pulling out all the stops to force us to stop using the classic WP Admin area.

I’ve been teaching WordPress courses for five years, and I can tell you that new users can’t get their heads around the blue and white screens.

It’s not going to work: There’s going to be a huge exodus of WP.com users to Blogger and WordPress.org.
