Changing the color of my links

My theme ‘Comley’ only has light gray link color. I do not want to change my theme but I need a different link color. Somehow it worked on one of my sites and I don’t know how I did it. I read that I may need to install a plug in. Which plug in would work with the Comley theme? I already tried adding code to the CSS it didn’t work for me
