Changing the dates on calendar widget.

Is there a way to change the dates on the calendar widget? I would like my posts to appear under the dates they are referring to (when the photos where taken, and the things I’m writing about happened), and not the day they when they where posted to the blog. Im trying to make a long linear narrative over a long period of time and the exact timing of when things happened is crucial to the overall idea. As i can’t always be sure to post everything on the day (when the timing for the calendar would be automatically correct) being able to change the dates later when i do the posting would solve this problem.

Calendar widgets will highlight the dates you publish Posts, not Pages on and there is no means of configuring them. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/calendar-widget/
