Changing the DNS for Email from another domain host
-
Hi,
I am a TOTAL novice to the WordPress site and was hoping that someone might be able to help me with an email issue I am having.I recently brought a domain name from a small company and transfered it across to WordPress, the domain name that I brought came with a webmail service and emails. Since transferring the name across to WordPress this facility doesn’t work anymore and instead is just redirecting me back to my webpage.
I have followed a few suggestions on changing the information on the DNS area on here and have entered in (as was written on the guidance) the following, which still doesn’t seem to work:CNAME autodiscover WEBMAIL.UNIQUE-TOUCHES.CO.UK.
MX 100 us2.mx1.mailhostbox.com.
MX 100 us2.mx2.mailhostbox.com.
MX 100 us2.mx3.mailhostbox.com.
TXT v=spf1 redirect=_spf.mailhostbox.comHaving gone through other posts I have not been able to find an answer to help me and am starting to loose my mind with it a little bit, so any help is greatly received!
Many thanks in advance

Please allow a little time for your DNS records to propagate across the internet. Since it looks like you just added these records yesterday, if they still aren’t working in a couple of days, please first double check the documentation and if everything looks okay, please let me know.

Hi there, Thank you so much for your replay. I am afraid my webmail still isnt working.
I know this might be a stupid question but will the web address have been changed in the process too? Previously it was webmail.unique-touches.co.uk but it is still just redirecting to unique-touches.co.uk
Thanks

It looks like there was a line missing in the records sent by your email hosting provider. I’ve updated your DNS records. If your email still isn’t working within the next 72 hours you might contact your email provider again and ask for further instructions.

Hi,
I am so sorry to keep bothering you with this but it has not seemed to work. i’ve tried clearing the cache etc. but now the link just goes to a white page and doesn’t load.
I have been back to my email provider who has sent the following information over:
Under The MX Records Tab Are The Following:
unique-touches.co.uk IN MX us2.mx3.mailhostbox.com
unique-touches.co.uk IN MX us2.mx1.mailhostbox.com
unique-touches.co.uk IN MX us2.mx2.mailhostbox.com
Under The CNAME Records Tab Are The Following:
pop.unique-touches.co.uk IN CNAME us2.pop.mailhostbox.com
imap.unique-touches.co.u IN CNAME us2.imap.mailhostbox.com
smtp.unique-touches.co.u IN CNAME us2.smtp.mailhostbox.com
webmail.unique-touches.co.u IN CNAME us2.webmail.mailhostbox.com
Under The TXT Records Tab Are The Following:
20130310._domainkey.unique-touches.co.uk IN TXT “v=DKIM1; g=*; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQDGsA2WZeFkdM6UADA0es1ipfj8Cu6H7JtqFl8j 49tVDXO0qaQk+/ahfpScCCIR/FwAA6YblNAg1P92HjWfw81jt2tXy2Pwkk/WecQtc67ixWW7FUn1 ZVvVr/qQ9qGAkzGWMjyJsNsONArB+Rw5zlXvUV2/ATvCbPURtKAtGR967QIDAQAB”
unique-touches.co.uk IN “v=spf1 redirect=_spf.mailhostbox.com”Is any of this helpful?
Again, thank you so much for your help. even though I am learning how to use WordPress, this really is something way beyond my skill level at the moment! -
Your information pretty much matches what you have right now, which you can reference here:
https://uniquetouches.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains&action=dnsedit&domain=unique-touches.co.ukI added the additional CNAME records since you supplied them.
If it’s still not working, you might want to send the exact DNS records listed above to your email provider to see if there’s anything else you need to include.

Hi, The best way is to leave your domain Name Servers set as BiGWorld Hosting’s and just add an ‘A Record’ to point to your wordpress site.
This way you can continue to manage your Domain, DNS and Email through your Control Panel at BiGWorld Hosting without the need to reply on wordpress’s DNS service.
Alternatively you could just use our WordPress Hosting or our Website Builder “DIY Sitebuilder”I hope this helps.
