Changing the domain back to Google

  • Unknown's avatar

I need to change the domain back to Google so I can set up different users and email addresses for my business.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Can you rephrase your question, please? It’s not very clear in its current format and I am not able to understand the context.

What do you mean when you say you want to move your domain back to Google?

Please explain better for us to help. Thanks.

    Hi manager271117,

As @strikebuys mentioned, we’ll need a bit more information from you. Can you also confirm which domain you are referring to?

    Thanks!

A previous colleague set up my business domain name, @rjpfi.com with Gmail. However, this was purchased through a re-seller – WordPress. I would like my subscription to be with Google rather than WordPress.

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

A previous colleague set up my business domain name, @rjpfi.com with Gmail.

The G Suite subscription for rjpfi.com is owned by another account. Are you able to login to the account where that was purchased?

Can you explain what was purchased and where I might be able to login with it? It comes up with contact the Re-seller from the G Suite, which is Word Press. However, it is almost impossible to contact anyone without subscribing to a paid service.

Realistically, I would like for this domain that I use for the email accounts to be with Google, and not have a limit of one user.

This is proving difficult to find any information or help with this issue. I would like to make sure I am doing it correct as this is an important tool for my business..

    Thanks.

The G Suite subscription is owned by another account so you will need to login as rjpfiadmin in order to make any changes — we are unable to make any changes with permission from the account that owns the upgrade. Do you have login details for that account?

Yes, it’s possible to use G Suite through Google rather than WordPress.com. In order to do so, you would need to cancel the G Suite subscription purchased through us and purchase it directly from Google instead. From there, additional licences can be purchased.

    I hope this information helps.

    Hi Gemma,

I have logged in with the username rjpfiadmin.

I am struggling to find where I can cancel my subscription though. I don’t believe I have paid for a subscription either.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hi there,

If you want to continue managing your G Suite account directly with Google instead of through us, you can cancel it from the Purchases page, here:

    https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

That will only cancel the upgrade with us, not the G Suite account itself as you’ve already paid for that for a full year. After cancelling you’ll receive an email from Google explaining how to set up payment options with them to continue using the account.

You can also cancel your domain mapping upgrade from there, but don’t cancel the mapping until you’ve first configured your DNS records at Google and pointed the domain’s name servers to them. Google support can help you setting up the DNS, and you can change the name servers at your domain provider, melbourneit.com.au.
