Changing the email address on my account

Hello! I attempted to change this in April and wasn’t successful. I’d like to change the email address on my account. The problem is that I somehow have 2 accounts – and one has the email that I’d like to switch to. I’d like some help getting this all straightened out so I have one account with the correct email address on it. Thanks!

Hi there, you can’t have the same email address on two different WordPressdotcom accounts. Your email address is your account’s unique identifier.
Before you can use your desired email address with your current account, you first need to change the email address on the other account to something else.

I tried that recommendation and can’t verify the email address on my other account. I’m stuck!

I figured out how to verify the email address on my other account! And I’ve changed the email address on my primary account! Can you please tell me how to remove the secondary account? Thanks!

If you now want to completely close that second account and any website associated with it, you can follow this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/close-account/
Do note what it says in the support guide about reuse of usernames and that your account information will stay around for about 30 days in case you change your mind and then it will be totally purged.
