Changing the Home menue tab name
-
I have been trying to change the name of my home page menue tab from “Home” to “Sketchbook”.
I go to Appearance/Menues/Edit Menues.
I maximize the home page window under “Menue Structure”.
I change the navigation label to “Sketchbook”.
I click “Save Menue”.The home page navigation label has been named this in the dashboard for a year now. And still it does not actually change the tab name.
Neither option under “Menue Settings” at the bottom (“Auto add pages – Automatically add new top-level pages to this menue”, “Theme locations – Primary Menue”) are selected, is this the problem? I am a little bit scared of changing the navigation settings, I have been using this blog for two years and though I have reverted to previous versions in the past, I do not want to loose all the content by messing with the places that contain it.
My theme is blogum and it does support custom menues, I customised my menue when I created the blog. My blog is located at: null
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is it:
Appearance/Menus/Manage Locations “Primary Menue, -Select Menu- >Menu 1” ? How does this effect the content? -
Hello!
From what I gather it seems that “Home” is part of the theme. You cannot change it. Which probably explains why Home is in a different color.
See Here: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/blogum/ -
Thank you. You may be right. Do you know what creating new menus and selecting them does? I am confused how to associate the old menu content to the new tab names (in a theme that allows this).
For example you can create several menus and call them different things, then select one. What happens to the content?
I think I origionally added the old pages to a new menu.

By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.
However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, and know that static front pages are traffic killers, then you can create a static front page called for example “Sktechbook” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

Thank you, I will consider changing the page that visitors first see to make it more interesting.
