Changing the image links on gallery format

Hello. I was wondering if this would be possible or not. I would like to lay out my recipe page using the gallery format (squares). The look is perfect. However, is there any way to change the link from the attachment page to the actual post? So that when people click the image on the gallery (carousel not activated), it takes them to the post, rather than a page displaying the image only? Possible?

As you create your gallery, you can click on each picture and select what the image will link to under Gallery Settings. See here for more information: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#editing-a-gallery-or-slideshow

I stand corrected, you cannot link to a post from the gallery images, only to either the attachment page or to the media file itself.
An option would be to create your own gallery using an HTML table and then link the images to posts.

Hello Sacredpath. Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did try to make my own, but somehow it was incredibly basic and didn’t have the hoverlink capabilities of the in-built gallery layout. Also, it didn’t look anywhere as neat!
So basically, you are saying it cannot be done?

Yes, it can’t be done with CSS alone. It would require editing the theme files, and we do not have access to those here at WordPress.com.
