Changing the look of my page. How
-
There is a big grey window in the middle of my background picture. I would like a different style. I want to use my own photo background, is there a way to have a different layout? There is also a picture of mountains that must be from a template, I don’t know how to get rid of it or where it is showing up.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Dear aloecalico,
I see that you’re using the retired Duotone theme which is no longer maintained and lacks a lot of the newer features. I would definitely recommend you to select a new theme from this address: https://wordpress.com/themes. Afterwards, if you would like to modify anything on the website, I’d be happy to try and assist you.
Although not at all recommended, if you would like to keep the current theme, please let me know and I can suggest custom CSS code which can change your website’s look to match your requirements. However, as mentioned at https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/ :Custom CSS is part of Custom Design, which is a feature of the WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans. You can add custom CSS to your WordPress.com blog using the CSS Editor in the Appearance → Customize → CSS panel in your blog dashboard. Anyone can save and preview custom CSS on a WordPress.com blog, but you have to purchase one of our plans to make those changes live.
Please let me know if I can provide further help.
Take care,
Onur
