changing the look of the web page

I have a web site with a theme that I want to change because it has very wide photos and very small writing.
Can I TRY another theme without committing to it and, if so, how do I get back to the present theme if I don’t like it

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, you can try several themes without committing.

From the WPAdmin menu, select > Appearance them >Themes from the left navigation menu. The window will show your currently active them, and then a list of other available themes sorted by trending or popular, or newest (you can select from these)… Then they can be filtered by cost (all, free or premium).

To try a theme on your own content, hover over the tile that shows the theme name – then you have three options – you can get details about the theme, you can activate the theme (button on left) or you can preview the theme (button on the right). I always preview a theme first.

While you can still reverse an activation it is much easier to just preview. You can even customize your preview to get a better idea of how it will look after you make the adjustments you want. You are still not committed until you activate the theme.

Just adding that if you are doing this from your WordPressdotcom MySites dashboard, click on DESIGN and then on Themes. When you find a theme you’d like to see with your content, click on the 3 dots in the lower right corner of the theme thumbnail and then select “Try & Customize.” That will open the Customizer where you can change some settings.

If you like what you see, click the “Activate & Publish” button. If you don’t want to change to that theme, you can exit the Customizer without changing by clicking the Left arrow at the top left corner of that screen.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

So that raises a question in my mind… why is there still a WPAdmin menu and if there are two different ways to access the same stuff – what is the advantage of one over the other?

    Thanks,
    Diana
