Changing the main title of the Blog to a logo on the Chateau theme

  Hi,
  I’d like to replace the title on my blog with my logo http://ailablogdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/aila-white-logo.jpg on the Chateau theme. Any ideas how to go about doing that?

  Give this a try to start and then if you wish to move it around or change anything we can work on that for you.

  #main-title {
  background: url("http://ailablogdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/aila-white-logo.jpg") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
  height: 130px;
  }

  Also, go back to settings > general and add your site title back in there so that the search engines can see it and add the following, which will hide the title, but still leave it there for the search engines to find. They are fond of site titles and it helps with SEO.

  #main-title #site-title {
  display: block;
  text-indent: -9999px;
  }
  
  #main-title #site-title a {
  display: block;
  height: 130px;
  }

  Lovely! thank you. Will do. How do I put the logo in the center? and can I get rid of that search thing on the right?

  Certainly. This gets rid of the search box.

  Replace the first bit of code I gave you with the following to center the logo.

  #main-title {
  background: url("http://ailablogdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/aila-white-logo.jpg") no-repeat scroll center top transparent;
  height: 130px;
  width: 100%;
  }

  Thank you for your prompt response. I’ve got two search engines so I wanted to get rid of the one on top. Does the above code get rid of both search engines?

  The top bit of code (#branding #search) gets rid of the top search box in the header area.

  The other search in the sidebar is a widget and you simply need to remove that from your sidebar at appearance > widgets.
