Changing the menu for custom post types
-
Hi there
I’ve got a WordPress site that’s using Woothemes Canvas. (www.coastsolutions.co.uk)
There are two areas of the site, one of them is the main e-commerce site which works fine – one of them is a paid access area for accountancy learning, it’s essentially a group of pages that you need a paid user account to access and I’m trying to make it a sealed unit as far as the menus go. Each “area” should have a totally separate menu.
And here lies the problem. Some of the pages are just pages that I’ve created, and in doing that you can select which menu you want to use on the page. Some of them aren’t pages but are actually generated by certain plugins and widgets, mainly Woothemes Sensei and BBPress.
So for example if you’re in the paid area home page which has the different menu, and you click on “Forums” you’ll be taken to the forum, but it’ll have the original menu at the top, and since it’s not a “page” there’s no way I can change that. The sam thing happens on the pages that are generated by the Sensei plugin. Since there’s no actual interface for these things I can’t change the menu.
It’s also actual forum posts and individual courses and lessons that have the wrong menu, these are just custom post types so going into the code and somehow changing the menu for just a few individual pages won’t do it. The menu needs to be changed for certain custom post types.
Is there a way to do this?
Many thanks!

Hi there,
Your site is a self-hosted WordPress site, rather than a site hosted here at WordPress.com. You can get help with self-hosted WordPress sites from the WordPress.org forums here:
You may also want to try contacting Woothemes directly for further help with the theme.
