How can I keep my old traffic and get more traffic to my site? Does site redirect cost anything? changing my site name is starting to sound like a lot of work. If I change my title instead, would that be easier? Would I keep my traffic?

There’s isn’t much work to changing a site name title and that was explained above. Yes, you will keep your traffic.

@daisymae2017 you can reuse it if you choose to keep it. If you discard it you will not be able to reuse it. And if you change you username you will not be able to get the username daisymae2017 back.
My recommendation:
If you don’t want to spend any money and do want to keep existing traffic from search engines, do not change your site URL. Just change the title in Customize > Site Identity.
If you are willing to spend money, please consider getting a plan. Even the personal plan will give you chat-based support on business days, which I think would help a bunch. And that way you could register a domain without the .wordpress.com in it, too.

Thanks, maybe that’s what I will do. When I change my title, should I put originally and the former title name. For example, my site title might look something like Welcome To Crystal’s Site(originally COUNTRY LIVING) or just leave it at Welcome To Crystal’s Site? What do you think? Keep in mind I want to keep my traffic and get more traffic.
