Changing the posted date

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi. I’m trying to figure out if there is a way for me to create a post today, but make is seem as though that post was put up at a time in the past, for instance 01/01/2009 or whatever… Is that possible, both on the URL side of things and in the time that the post shows it was created? I haven’t been able to get either option to happen, as the “change date” option on the right side of the page still showed today’s date (even though it was changed to March 9, 2008) when I viewed the draft.

Thanks so much for any help.

I’m not completely sure of this (because I haven’t tried it), but you might be able to publish your post, then edit it (post-publication) and change the date in the ‘Publish’ box on the right.

    glyphgirl,
Please post a link to your blog, on a separate line starting with
    http://
and some specific information about what you want to do?

glyph- instead of changing the date on the right side of the edit screen, try changing it by hitting “EDIT” at the top by the permalink (edit permalink). Hope that helps.

    No, that won’t do it.
