Changing the site name

  I want to change the name of the site from http://www.newventureanalyst.com to something else. How can I do that? Please help?

  You will need to have Staff remove the domain mapping and replace it with another domain. What is the replacement URL that you want to purchase please?

  It’s not really possible to “change” a domain name. However, you can register a new one at the page linked below (or at WordPress.com -> My Site -> Domains):

  https://newventureanalyst.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

  Once you’ve done so, return to the same page, and select the newly registered domain as your “primary domain”.

  Let me know once you’ve done so, and we can remove the old one if you want. If you decide to leave it, it’ll automatically redirect to the new one. That’s a good idea, if you’re getting traffic to your site.

  How to redirect non www version to www version or vice versa.

  I want to verify both version in google webmaster.

  I already verified www version.

  The software will continue to strip out the redunant and unnecessary “www” and redirect seamlessly to the same URL minus the “www”.

  Be aware that www is an old protocol from way back when the web was new and everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.

  These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.
