Changing the size of the header to a bigger header

  i just started CSS and have tried some formulas from codes i have already read and none of them seem to work :( i want to ajust the header to a bigger size, about 450px and 920px

  The header on your site is already 945px wide. If you want the graphic part in the middle larger, then you have to make it that way in an image editing program.
