changing the spacing from automatic double space to single

    Hello,
When I press return while I am writing a blog in the paragraph area, it always double spaces. I can’t single space unless I type to the end of the line and keep typing. Then it will single space.

    My question is:
Can it default to single space when I press return instead of automatically double spacing?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Donna,

Pressing the Return key by itself results in what’s known as a hard return. Hard returns are intended to be used at the end of a paragraph, when you want to start a new one. They therefore result in the double spacing you noticed.

A soft return are intended for use at times when you simply want to start a new line, with a single space. Pressing Shift + Return at the same time on your keyboard will result in a soft return. :)

Let me know if hitting Shift + Return results in what you’re after or if you have further questions on the above.
