Changing the theme

I have a live website (https://shetlandcatrescue.co.uk) using the twenty seventeen theme. In mobile view the header has several issues. Any whites turn grey and it loses focus. But most annoying is the header is so big (twice the height I need) you can’t see the menu clearly. The header however isn’t adjustable and my plan doesn’t allow CSS. I guess I have to change the theme. Except without my pages I can’t visualize any of them. Twenty twenty three appears to be able to do anything, would this be better? I am not any kind of website expert, so am worried that when I activate a new theme it will then need hours of work to make it look presentable. Can someone reassure me that it will be relatively pain-free.

  • Hi there,

You’re correct in noting that the Twenty Seventeen theme is an older theme, and as such, it may not be fully compatible with some of the newer features of WordPress, including the Site Editor. I would highly recommend switching to a more recent theme to resolve the issues you’re experiencing and to ensure better compatibility with the latest WordPress features.

I understand that you’re concerned about the process of switching themes and making your site look presentable again. However, please rest assured that the transition should be relatively pain-free, and all your content will be preserved.

In case you encounter any issues during the transition or need further assistance, our support team is always here to help. Feel free to reach out to us, and we’ll do our best to guide you through the process and ensure your website looks the best.
