Changing the URL of my Website
-
Hello,
For some reason, my blog address is “wordpressblog.cloudscapeproductions.com”
It needs to be “blog.cloudscapeproductions.com”
Simply put, the text “wordpress” needs to be removed. Also, this isn’t a wordpress.com address, it’s a sub-domain/add-on domain.
I have searched for access to do this, but every time I attempt to go to the Dashboard of the blog page, I’m met with a:
“Sorry, the website wordpressblog.cloudscapeproductions.com cannot be found”
Because of this, I can’t manually change anything…
Thank you for reading about my issue.

There already is already a WordPress.ORG installed blog at http://blog.cloudscapeproductions.com/
What is the base WordPress.COM blog you need help with?
This forum is only for support of WordPress.COM hosted blogs – you might be in the wrong forum – please see below

have you tried accessing “wordpressblog.cloudscapeproductions.com” ?
there is an error when trying to access the site.
The name of the URL needs to be changed and I can’t change it manually because of the error. Can a WordPress.com Admin change it for me?
-
also, “blog.cloudscapeproductions.com” is my site which is why I’m asking for it to be changed…
-
Can a WordPress.com Admin change it for me?
Since the site is not hosted on WordPress.COM, the WordPress.COM do not have access to your site at all and can’t change anything
Please read

I’m not sure if this is an issue with WordPress.ORG because I only see the instance of “wordpressblog.cloudscapeproductions.com” when I log into my WordPress.COM account… there is no option to change the URL when I go to the My Blog section of WordPress.com
-
I think you are seeing your blog in My Blogs because you have the JetPack Plugin installed.
I have flagged this for the staff but I think they will tell you about the same thing I have. That they have no access to change the address of your site.
You should be able to get help from the WordPress.ORG help forum people.
The work all needs to be done on your cloudscapeproductions.com/ web site

Also, I have talked to a HostGator rep and they’re unable to resolve this issue. Is there anything a WordPress employee can do?
-
Is there something WordPress can do to change the URL on their end from “wordpressblog.cloudscapeproductions.com” to “blog.cloudscapeproductions.com” ?
-
This was flagged for staff attention hours ago. Don’t post any more to it, because every time you do, you push it farther back in the lineup for staff help. Just wait.

You’ve reached support for the free sites hosted at WordPress.com. Your site at cloudscapeproductions.com is hosted by Hostgator using the free WordPress software available here:
Because your site is self-hosted with a different provider, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your site’s files or the ability to provide support for your current issue.
You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here:
http://wordpress.org/support/
http://codex.wordpress.org/You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance. They should be able to tell you how to remove the sub-domain.
Thank you.

I’ve already talked to my provider (HostGator) and they said there isn’t anything they can do and they aren’t sure why it’s displaying the incorrect URL on your end. They deleted all instances of “wordpressblog.cloudscapeproductions.com” which is the incorrect URL. It should be “blog.cloudscapeproductions.com”.
-
Could you please go to the Jetpack page on your blog and disconnect/connect it? this should initiate a new connection on your WordPress.com account.
Looking forward to your reply.
-
Ok, I looked at my plugins and Jetpack was not displayed. I proceeded to install and activate Jetpack and when I went to my WordPress.COM account, I was able to change my primary blog to “blog.cloudscapeproductions.com”.
Now, when I look at the My Blogs section of my account, I see the correct URL “blog.cloudscapeproductions.com” and the incorrect URL “wordpressblog.cloudscapeproductions.com” underneath it, is there a way to delete this since it’s non-existent?
-
I’ve just deleted the incorrect URL from your account.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance! -
Ok, I believe this resolves my issue. I don’t notice any other problems.
Thank you very much!
