Changing the url to my own registered domain

  Hi I am having alot of grief trying to change my url from the wordpress one to one that I have registered with “Irish domains” , the new url is http://www.sportgeek.ie, I am aware that I have to change the name servers which I have already done (changing to ns1.wordpress.com etc)

  However I am still having trouble trying to complete the change to my new url, I try to domain map but wordpress tells me it is not registered when I know for a fact that it is, I have to the best of my knowledge obtained a dns zonal record from wordpress which most foreign url’s need so I am just wondering what the problem is, should I be using the redirect method rather than domain mapping?

  And should I have changed the nameservers of my domain to WordPress ones before gaining actual recognition of my registered domain from WordPress?
