changing the url with namesco hosting

  I have followed a number of instructions to remove the namesco index.htm file so that I can use my domain name as the URL rather than the domain name + WP folder name.

  e.g. I want <blah.co.uk> as the URL to get to my site
  not <blah.co.uk/wp>

  I have tried deleting ad replacing index.htm with various index.php from the wp folder, followed various threads to update .htaccess file. Grateful if anyone can point me in the direction of a more up to date and concise thread please.
