Changing theme
-
Hi! I’m “growing out of my theme” and want to change it to a mix between a blog and website where I present my DIY-tips as well as my daily inputs. I’m curious about a Premium theme – “Handmade” and would love to have a look at some blogs using the theme. Could you help me with like 5 links? Thank You! :)

Sure! Here are a few sites using Handmade:

http://thedomesticfour.com/Premium themes are refundable for up to 30 days, so do feel free to purchase it and check it out first-hand. If you’re not happy with it, you can always issue yourself a full refund.
Just let me know if you need anything else!

Thank you! :) But could you please give me a few more!
I’d like to see at least one site where the first page (homepage) actually shows the daily blogpost AND “teasers” with photo of earlier posts written. I need to know if I can use it as a blog but at the same time show some of my diy posts. I think you call the page a showcase templet page.
If I like to show a list of my 10 most read posts, can I do that with a thumbnail photo or only with the header?
Is it a possible to use a header image? Do you in that case, know the size of it?
Best wishes

Hi there – @kathrynwp is out, so I’m taking over your request.
We don’t really have a way to find sites using the Handmade theme that have those specific layout options that you’re looking for. My only suggestion is to view the live demo site for this theme as the theme developers try to highlight most of the options that can be done with the theme in the demo:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/handmade/Also, you do have 30-days to request a full refund if you decide to purchase the theme and try out the different features on your own.
For the header image, the dimesions are listed in the support page for this theme: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/handmade/support/
Header images should be no wider than 880px or taller than 200px. Wider images will be scaled down.
I hope that clarifies things!

Thank you for your answers – just one more question before I will buy the theme. Is it possible to change the colors of the dates in the blog section? And if so, how do I do that? Can you please help med with the css? I have my web color codes so just write FXXXXX and I will fill them in myself. This is important to me as I want my blog to have the same coloring as it has now!
Thank you for your patience and help! :)

To change the color of the date, you would use this CSS:
h5.date { color: #fxxxxx }Also, as a premium themes customer, you do have access to an exclusive forum where you can get help from the theme authors themselves to help with other customization questions. Here’s a link to the forum for the Handmade theme:

Hi! I’ve now bought the theme and see that you gave me the css for the time I publish my posts instead of the little yellow and orange picture with the date in it. How do I change those colors?
Also 880 pxl width for the header seems to small. It should be the same width as the rest of the blog to look good! Now it does so on my iphone but not on my computer screen…?
For the rest of my questions – I will now move on to the premium support for Handmade. Thanx!

Hi there!
I would recommend you ask how to best change the colors and the width of your header to the Handmade theme developer as they know the best way to make those changes.
Let me know if I can help with anything else!
