changing theme

  I have been blogging with the Toni by Chris M theme. I want to change to a theme that will allow me to customize my header. I am thinking of going with K-2 Lite. If I change themes in my established blog, will I lose all of my current widgits, etc.? Or, will it just be everything the same with the new look? I am a little (okay – a lot) afraid about screwing something up. Any advice?

  You should be fine. Use the preview function to see how it will look – widgets and all.

  Someone reported that they lost their widgets, but it was over a month ago. Before you do it, just open a Notepad document and paste the contents of all your text widgets into that. Then save it and if anything goes wrong, you can just copy from there.

  Thanks for the tip. I should be able to preview and revert to original before I save, right?

  Yes, you should. Copy the text widgets anyway. Better a document to delete than having to rebuild by hand. Previews can be deceiving.
