Changing theme colours by code

Hi, I need to change the colour of my menu bar and text colour for links. I cannot find this as an option on the menu’s of my theme, but was told you could help me by providing a code please?

You can probably figure i’m not too savvy, but I have created my site using wordpress which was put onto my domain on a friends server who is hosting it?

I do apologize. After 11 years of directing all those with wordpress.ORG theme questions and CSS editing questions to the wordpress.ORG support forums I’m not doing well with the change to having some of them ie. themes created by Automattic answered here.
