Changing themes

    Hi
It’s not a technical support question. I just wondered if you guys ever change the themes to your blogs, and if so, how often? I mean, do you pick one theme you like and stay with it all the way through to keep consistency, or do you play around with it, switching from time to time just so it wouldn’t get boring?

    Thanks

I think it depends on the individual. I just started my blog, and I plan to stick to Pressrow because of content purposes, as well as its clean look.

Others may like changing themes more often. It does get boring if you use the same theme for a long time. :-)

Why are you asking, lior20? If I may ask.

I’m asking because I thought of changing a theme and tried a lot of them but couldn’t find something I really liked, so i kept going back to the old one. And they I got curious as to what most WordPress bloggers do when it comes to theme choosing and handling. On the one hand, staying with one theme brings consistency to you blog. People know how it looks like. It becomes the blog identity, in a way, and maybe the blogger’s identity too.

On the other hand, there are many themes to choose from and it seems a waste not to use them… In other words, it is very tempting to play around with different themes. And as I said, you sometimes get bored with same layout, fonts, color, etc…
I wonder what bloggers who has their own site do. Do they “refurbish” the place from time to time? I guess so…

Yet, could be this is just a way to avoid writing… You know, style over substance and all that. :-)

Hmm. I don’t think readers will come back to a blog just because it’s constantly having a new look.

It is a waste not to use the available themes on wordpress.com in that sense, but then again they are free to begin with, so you don’t lose anything by not using it. :-)

It boils down to what the blogger wants, at the end.

Actually theme changes is one of the numbers that staff tracks:

    April Wrap-up

570k changes last month. *chuckle* I bet TT did most of them. :)
