  My site is already live and now I want to change the theme. How can I work on the new theme without it going live until it is completed?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi, I can’t see this functionality in wordpress.org; I only see ‘preview’.

  So, my question is: How can I work on the new theme without it going live until it is completed in wordpress.org?

  WordPress.ORG sites don’t have that functionality. That is a wordpress.com thing only.

  You are in the wrong forums and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress sites are supported. As you have just found out, things here are different from self-hosted sites and our answers in most cases will not apply to your site.
