Changing themes and deleting old site

I have an old wordpress site that I want to delete and start over with a new theme. When I attempt to change themes to Pingraphy my old site does not go away or reappear in the new theme. How can I start over? The site is currently on domain.com and I own the domain name. Any ideas?
