Changing Themes – CSS Issues
-
Hello,
I’d like to change the theme of my blog. I’m currently using custom CSS. If I want to use a new theme, I need to restore the default settings of my current theme, right? If yes, in order to do this, do I have to use the original stylesheet for the ChaoticSoul theme (which is the theme I am currently using), as a reference to “manually” restore the default settings?Under CSS Settings, there are the following options:
-Add my CSS to ChaoticSoul’s CSS stylesheet.
-Don’t use ChaoticSoul’s CSS, and replace everything with my own CSS.Will selecting one of the above options restore the default settings of my current theme so I may use a new theme, or do I have to restore the default settings manually using the original stylesheet as a reference?
Thank you.

Yes you need to revert to the original CSS.
Go to appearance > custom design > css and copy all the CSS out and paste into a plain text file for safe keeping in case you want to return to the other theme. Then delete everything in the CSS edit window, make sure “Add my CSS to ChaoticSoul’s CSS stylesheet” is selected and save. Then you can change to a different theme.
