changing time on posts
-
Hi, this is nuts but the whopping two posts I’ve put up both have the same date, August 3, even though my first post is recorded as having been published on August 2 and my second post was published today, August 3. I’ve gone into settings and the Date Format example they gave was August 3, but that’s just an example of the various formats the dates can be in. Help! Anyone know how to change the dates so I don’t have the same date for every post?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We do not set the date and time on our posts as we go along the software does that. Once you set your time zone properly here Dashboard > Settings > General that’s all you have to do. The software will date and timestamp every post properly after you do that.
Messing with dates and times on posts is NOT recommended, particularly is a terrible idea after publication as the date is part of the URL.
If you ever want to schedule posts for later publication see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/
Note that only some themes are coded to display the time on posts. List of themes which show time: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/posting-time-displayed/

Go to the post which was published earlier the same day and change the timings (top right corner under the edit post page) so as make the time earlier than the publishing time of the second post.

That will of course be workable in this one case but the result will be a 404 when it comes to the original entry and it’s not a habit that any blogger ought to get into using.
