Changing Timestamp and 404s
-
I noticed that when I changed my post timestamp to a different day, the old URL (such as 2007/10/22/Title) wasn’t redirecting to the new post (such as 2007/10/23/Title). Do you think its possible that the WP engine could redirect based on the post title (or slug, etc.) if the exact date isn’t found in the URL?
I was trying to keep one post updated with new info and update the timestamp at the same time, but then I noticed that anyone who had directly linked to my original post was getting 404s, so I changed the date back to yesterday, etc.

We are stuck with that naming structure here I am afraid. I never really thought about it, but that would be a problem because the post slug is one thing and the date is something that can’t be faked. Something to ask staff about in a support ticket I would imagine for some professional advise!
