Changing to a dot com

I want to change my domain to a dot com, instead of .wordpress.com. I’ve already got the domain registered. Now what?
P.S. I didn’t register my new domain with WordPress.

I did a little bit, but I am confused. I just wish I could talk to someone directly!
One of my concerns is.. I have been approved with some affiliates and I want to be able to display the banners in my posts, but with wordpress.com, I cannot do that.
Another thing is, I just don’t know where to start. I’ve already paid for the domain, so now what? Do I have to purchase the $13/year thing for it to be mapped or what?

Don’t do the domain mapping if you want to display affiliate adverts. That is against the Terms of Service on WordPress.com.

This includes multi-level marketing (MLM) blogs and pyramid schemes. To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category. Here is a thread in the support forums that talks more about which affiliate links are OK or not OK.

Please understand that there are different kinds of WordPress:
.com and .org
If you want to do affiliate adverts/banners, then you must find and pay for a host and be responsible to fix any problems which happen: -

Okay, so I still am not understanding what my next step would be.. When I go to Store > Domain, the only options I have are to buy something.

No, you want to head over to WordPress.ORG if you want affiliate advertising on your site. If you do that on wp.COM then your site will be suspended for violating the ToS.
If the adverts are not necessary for your site, then you should be fine on wp.com, but if you need the affiliates, then you must use wp.ORG. (Or some other hosting/software system)
You will pay for your domain name (which you already have), then pay a company to host your site. The name alone does not mean you will be live online.
The software to run your site is free from wp.ORG, but you may or may not want to purchase a theme. They do have free themes you can use.
