Changing to a self-hosted wordpress site- advice needed

  Hi!
  I am just wondering what steps I should take to properly move all my data to a self-hosted WordPress site?

  I have loved being here (and I like the theme I have been using), but need much more flexibility in terms of customisation… this is really the primary reason for the move.

  Totally ignorant, I know but…
  How will this affect my ability to stay in contact with people I am following and those who are following me?

  One of the things I love most about WP is the community.
  Will I still have a reader? Will my posts still appear in the readers of my WP followers?
  Will my dashboard still display in the same way?

  So many questions :P

  Hi missmarzipancom,

  To answer your questions:

  – If you install the Jetpack plugin, you’ll still be able to have followers.
  – Your dashboard would be slightly different, but most of the commonly-used functions should still be there.

  You’ll have to follow this support article to transfer your followers to your new WordPress.org site.
